The 7 Most Important Photographer Rules

I would like to share with you the incredibly important secrets of the work of a freelancer photographer. Contrary to popular belief, freelance artists should work much more than hired workers and in order to stay afloat you should know a few rules, which I will give below. So let's go!

The daily routine

It is critical to have a clear structure of what and when you do. When you process photos, take pictures, meet with customers, and also relax. It is useful to have plans not only for the day, but also for the week and even the month, in order to keep up with everything and not waste time in vain. To make it easier to organize yourself - write a plan for the next day in the evening of the previous day.

Take your time

A common problem with novice photographers is rushing. most often this applies to uploading photos after the next photo shoot. As a rule, the vast majority of photographers are involved in processing either late in the evening or at night, which negatively affects the quality of the final photographs. It is better to double-check the work done at night in the morning than to lament and bite your elbows because of poor-quality work that has become public.

Quality is better than quantity

Another weakness of many photographers, and not just beginners. Photos are your showcase; people value quality by the worst work. It’s better to lay out 1-2 really cool images than 10, among which there will be a lot of averages and the overall impression of you will be much worse. Often you can observe the following picture on the open spaces of social networks: the photographer uploads a series of 7-10 photos, half of which are taken from one angle and are not much different from each other. Always analyze what you show your potential customers, this is really important!

Workplace

To maintain high productivity, I highly recommend competently equipping your workplace. Try to remove all distracting objects, applications, buy a comfortable chair. Tune-ups can greatly enhance your performance. Remember when you were at university, how difficult it was to sit down for a term paper or preparation for exams while there was a mess on the table / room?

Motivation

It is difficult to overestimate the role of motivation in the work of a freelance photographer. In this case, it is more likely even about self-motivation. It is absolutely necessary to set both goals and think over remuneration so that work does not turn into a routine. In addition, it makes sense to talk with family members, so that they also put their contribution into the piggy bank of your motivation. It is always easier to work when there is someone to give you the magic pendell!
